About This Company IHK
The IHK Berlin is the organization of the Berlin companies. Admittedly – the merger of the companies in the IHK is not a voluntary matter but is required by law. It was important to the legislator to create an institution of the economy that, on the other hand, is independent of the influence or special interests of individual economic sectors, sectors, or companies.
An IHK must therefore keep an eye on the interests of all companies belonging to it and, against this background, promote the economy of its region as a whole. Where an economic activity has to be regulated in the interest of the general public, the IHK can take on these tasks as an independent institution of the economy and thus keep the state’s influence on companies as low as possible.
